The mission of Metagymnastics is to bring together gymnastic elements from all eras of gymnastics, from its initial appearance in the 1940s, to the modern era of acrobatics and high-power routines. We wish to revive the popularity of older, now-forgotten elements and help set a new standard in diversity of modern gymnastic routines, as well as promote popularity of gymnastics in general. After all, gymnastics should not only be about the measured difficulty and correctness, but also about the universal aesthetics and general physical and mental ability.
How is our database built?

We start with a issue of Code of Points (CoP), released by FIG or any from another regulatory body.

In addition, we scan social media sites for any further gymnastic elements not found in any CoP.

First, all gymnastic elements are extracted from the CoP. Then, each element presentation is split into all possible presentations of element variations.

We keep track of all elements in each particular CoP issue as well as all existing gymnastic elements.

With the help of gymnastic community additional information - like videos from competitions or trainings - can be now added to each element variation.

We end up with a library of gymnastic elements - each variant as its own element - cross referenced to all relevant gymnastic regulations (Code of Points) and linked to online videos and other metadata

Repeat for other gymnastic regulations and elements.
